We
are very pleased to inform you that the undersigned
national Shiatsu Federations of France, Germany, Italy
and Switzerland have given birth to the International
Shiatsu Network (ISN).
The ISN was officially founded on 27th september 2003
in a very friendly and cooperative spirit. The fast
development of shiatsu and ongoing changes in the legal
conditions for the profession gave the impulse to found
the new network. The main goal of the ISN is to be a
platform for the information exchange and for cooperation
between national associations of all over the world.
The ISN
acts as an instrument of the associations and can
not take any decisions without the approval of the
national committees. As the tasks are distributed
among the representatives, the network operates at
very low costs for its members.
The Network
will coordinate and provide documents of the various
international associations, like papers on the legal
situations, curricula, definitions, Code of ethics,
quality standards and so on.
The International
Shiatsu Network aims to support the legal recognition
of shiatsu and to represent the interests of its members.
It will be a platform for common projects on a voluntary
basis, too.
The founding
members of the ISN formulated a commitment, in which
the basic principles of the network are documented.
Other associations which are interested to get more
informations or wish to join the ISN can contact one
of the formal representatives (Please see in the Home
Page: “Informations”).
